The Head of the North American Department of Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), , Ms. Christine Matton, recently visited Quebec and New Brunswick from April 11 to 18, 2023 for a mission focused on culture, the francophonie and youth.

In Quebec City, Ms. Matton attended the Salon international du livre de Québec, which allowed her to meet several local professionals of the book industry. She also met with the “École nationale de l’humour”, as well as several representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of International Relations, with whom she was able to follow up on the various collaborations underway between Wallonia-Brussels and the Government of Quebec.

Ms. Matton then went to Moncton, New Brunswick, where she was welcomed by the Société nationale de l’Acadie. She met with several political, cultural, youth and academic actors of the Acadian Francophonie, as well as with Mr. Johan Schiterrer, Consul General of France in the Atlantic provinces, and Ms. Sophie LeBlanc, advisor to the New Brunswick Department of Intergovernmental Affairs. These exchanges are intended to be meaningful in this year 2023, which marks 40 years of cooperation between Wallonia-Brussels and Acadia.
