The Wallonia-Brussels Federation is a French-speaking community in the heart of Europe with 4.5 million French speakers. As a member of the “Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)” since 1980, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is acting with various partners and actors, who share French as a common language, including the “Assemblée parlementaire de la francophonie (APF)”, the “Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)” and TV5Monde. It is also a member of two Permanent Ministerial Conferences of the Francophonie, the “Conference of Ministers of Education of French-speaking States and Governments” and the “Conférence des Ministres de la Jeunesse et des Sports de la Francophonie (CONFEJES).”

In Quebec, the General Delegation Wallonia-Brussels contributes to promoting the francophonie throughout Canada via various projects, events, and partnerships in the areas of culture, digital technology, youth, innovation and more. It collaborates with the “Représentation de l’OIF pour les Amériques (REPAM) ” as well as with the various OIF institutions based in Quebec City (“Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable”, “Observatoire de la langue française”). The Delegation also has bounds with the many Quebec and Canadian institutions and organizations working to promote and disseminate French, whether in Quebec, in the Francophone communities in Ontario and Acadia, or in the rest of Canada.
