About the play
« “Au Jardin des Potiniers proposes a contemplative and playful immersion into a territory where an invented botany is constructed. The public is invited to become the stones at the heart of this territory, with their heads emerging and their bodies under the model, to experience in a sensitive way the cyclical evolution of a microcosm composed of fictitious plants. It is thus on a miniature scale that the magic happens, each person having his own perspective on this world that evolves a few centimeters from their face. This new approach of the scenic frame allows a singular intimacy between the public, the work, the materials which compose it and the manufacturers of the spectacle. This "non-anthropocentric" poetic universe imposes a different temporality; the time of the stones, as we like to call it, which leaves room for contemplation and wonder in front of simple events, in a more global perspective than the human."  (La Chapelle)

Ersatz is a multidisciplinary collaborative project, active in the fields of live art, installation and illustrated publishing [...] The work is centered around the dynamics of "living scenography". The forms that the company creates question the object and the actor/spectator, the inanimate and the living that work in symbiosis, feed each other and invert their function. The company bases their projects on the preponderance of the sensory and the sensitive, where the manipulation at sight allows the dialectic between the illusion and the reality, to put in scene the trueness of the real life. The favorite themes are the exploration of unknown spaces, the dreamlike realism where perceptions are displaced, diverted into a kind of familiar strangeness. Ersatz propels the spectator into his imagination in order to detach him singularly from reality to leave him the time and space to be in this blur that delimits the tangible world and the inner world.
