Audrey Lauro in creative residency and in concert at Le Paradis

The alto saxophonist from Brussels, Audrey Lauro will be in residency in Rimouski and will play with the instrumentalist ensemble GGRIL le on May 14th at 7pm. This event will take place at the Coopérative de solidarité Paradis in Rimouski. The musician will perform her piece "Ritournelle Reverse"  (30 min)

  • Biography 
    Audrey Lauro, , the Brussels-based saxophonist, trained as a composer in jazz and contemporary music. She then devoted herself to experimental music and particularly to improvisation, constantly questioning the language of the instrument, of the phrase and of the sound event. In 2002, Lauro Audrey started a jazz course at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels and a contemporary composition course at the Conservatoire Royal of Liège. Since then, she has spent the last decade developing her music on experimental stages in Belgium and abroad.   • What is GGRIL?
    It is an ensemble of musicians who explore the possibilities of composition for improvisers and spontaneous co-creation. The group gathers a dozen musicians, coming from different horizons, but all eager to explore the new territories offered by orchestras where the music is alive, freed from the linearity of the writing. GGRIL has already participated in numerous festivals in Canada and Europe..
