After the mission of the City of Namur to Terrebonne (Quebec) last August, the mayor of Terrebonne, Mr. Mathieu Traversy, was in Namur in November for the signing of a cooperation protocol for the years 2024-2026.

"Terrebonne is the most beautiful city in Quebec, right next to Montreal! We are here for the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the next three years with the city of Namur, a dynamic city that is a lot like Terrebonne. On the economic side, we need to redevelop limited land. On the social side, homelessness is a growing reality and our communities are trying to find solutions."

"It was with great enthusiasm that our delegation traveled to Terrebonne, which, like Namur, is a member of the Association internationale des maires francophones (AIMF), to share various experiences related to its membership. Given the exchanges that have taken place, it is certain that we will continue the relationship between our two cities and consider concrete cooperation in the short term."

          — Mr Maxime Prévot.

The two cities of equal population size, share common issues and concerns, such as social inclusion and environmental transition. They also want to strengthen links between their universities. Particular emphasis is placed on the mobility of students, researchers and professors.
