Parlement : 20 ans de collaboration entre le Parlement de Wallonie et l’ANQ

Mr. André Frédéric, President of the Walloon Parliament, and Ms. Nathalie Roy, President of the National Assembly of Quebec (ANQ), opened the 14th session of the Joint Committee between the National Assembly of Quebec and the Parliament of Wallonia on November 16 2023, in Namur.

On this occasion, Frédéric recalled the lasting ties that unite Quebec and Wallonia and stressed that the year 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the Agreement which links the Parliament of Wallonia and the National Assembly of Quebec.

They had the opportunity to discuss the political and parliamentary news of the two assemblies, the state of organic agriculture in Wallonia and Quebec as well as to take stock of the mechanisms of adaptation and resilience of riparian zones to climate change.

A few field visits were also made: the Corioule farm, where Guillaume Fastré, recently named Walloon Talent of the Year 2023, and his family work according to the precepts of organic farming. And an area of the Vesdre (Province of Liège) having undergone major work following the floods of 2021, as well as the Gileppe dam.

On November 17, 2023, the work of the 14th session of the Joint Committee between the National Assembly of Quebec and the Parliament of Wallonia closed with the signing of two resolutions relating to organic agriculture and the adaptation and resilience of riparian zones to climate change
